Restaurant power washing in Toronto is about grease, and grease only comes off properly with heat. Our 200F hot-water rigs cut the black film on hood aprons, rear-door pads, patios and dumpster pads back to bare concrete, after close or before prep, with every litre of greasy water recovered so nothing runs into the lane drain.
Why Do Restaurant Surfaces Get So Greasy?
Every kitchen exhausts grease. Some of it condenses on the roof and drips onto the concrete under the hood, which we call the hood apron. Staff carry more out the back door on their shoes, along with oil from the fryer station and food waste on the way to the bins. Dumpster pads collect leachate, the liquid that drains from waste, which smells, stains and draws fruit flies and rodents by midsummer.
Grease on concrete is slippery, especially when wet. It also soaks deeper over time, turning a clean grey pad black and sticky. Cold water and a pressure wand spread grease around and push it toward the drain, which creates a second problem with the City. That is why restaurants on College Street, King West and Queen West end up on monthly hot-water plans.
What Is Included in Restaurant Power Washing?
A typical monthly plan includes:
- Hood apron degreasing under the kitchen exhaust, roof drip line and rear wall
- Rear-door and lane pad where staff traffic carries grease and food waste
- Front sidewalk for gum, spills and salt in winter
- Patio decking, pavers or concrete during patio season
- Dumpster pad and enclosure with degreaser and odour control
We use a 4 gpm 200F hot-water power washer, an alkaline degreaser that emulsifies cooking fats, and a rotary surface cleaner for an even finish without wand stripes. The hydrovac vacuums wash water as we go.

How Do Restaurant Plans Work?
Contract and pricing table
| Plan | Surfaces | Typical price |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly, small restaurant | Hood apron, rear pad | $400-$600 per month |
| Monthly, full exterior | Apron, rear pad, sidewalk, patio, dumpster pad | $600-$900 per month |
| Bi-weekly patio add-on | Patio during patio season | Fixed per-visit rate |
| One-time deep clean | Any combination, written per surface | $350-$1,200 |
Monthly pricing is locked for 12 months and plan clients get priority dispatch.
COI delivery in 24 hours
Many restaurants lease from a landlord or plaza that requires a certificate of insurance from every contractor. Ours shows $2M liability and can name the landlord or management company as additional insured. It arrives within one business day, with WSIB clearance attached.
Hydrovac wastewater containment (Toronto Municipal Code 681)
Greasy wash water is exactly what Toronto Municipal Code 681 is meant to keep out of storm sewers. Before we start, drain cover mats go over lane and curb catch basins, berms contain runoff, and the on-truck hydrovac recovers the water. Landlords appreciate it, and so do neighbours who share the lane.
When Should a Restaurant Book Power Washing?
- Monthly, as routine maintenance for aprons, pads and dumpster areas
- Before patio season opens, to clear winter salt and grime from the patio and frontage
- Before a health inspection or landlord walk-through
- After a grease spill or a bin leak, which our 24/7 line can dispatch for
- When pests or odours start, usually a sign the dumpster pad needs degreasing
How Much Does Restaurant Power Washing Cost?
Monthly plans run $400-$900 depending on the number of surfaces, grease load and frequency. One-time frontage and patio cleans typically run $350-$1,200. The quote is written per surface, so you can see exactly what the apron, pad, patio and dumpster area each cost and adjust the plan to your budget.
Common Restaurant Problems We Solve
Black hood aprons
Grease from the kitchen exhaust drips onto the concrete below. A 200F hot-water pass takes it back to bare grey concrete, often in under an hour.
Slippery back doors
Grease carried out on shoes makes rear pads slick. Regular degreasing keeps staff safer during busy service.
Fruit flies and odour by the bins
Leachate on the dumpster pad feeds pests. Monthly degreasing and odour control break the cycle.
Sticky patios
Food and drink spills build up on patio pavers and decking through the season. Weekly or bi-weekly washing keeps them clean and safe.
