Post-construction power washing in Toronto is the last exterior step before a builder hands over a home or a commercial unit. Mortar splatter on new brick, concrete haze on walkways, mud tracked across driveways and dust on every window frame all come off, with the right rig on each material and the slurry vacuumed into our hydrovac tank.
Why Do New Builds Need a Professional Final Wash?
Construction leaves residue on every surface. Masons leave mortar tags and splatter. Concrete crews leave paste and haze on adjacent surfaces. Landscapers and trucks track mud across new hardscape. Brick and stone often show white efflorescence as they dry out for the first time.
Buyers and owners notice all of it at the pre-delivery inspection. A rushed clean with a rental machine can etch new concrete, blow out fresh joints or leave streaks on brick that are harder to fix than the original mess. And on a new subdivision, washing slurry into a fresh storm system is a fast way to get an inspector’s attention.
What Is Included in Post-Construction Power Washing?
- Brick and stone veneer: mortar splatter and haze removed with controlled pressure or soft wash after a test patch
- Concrete and interlock hardscape: driveways, walks, steps and patios cleaned of mud, paste and dust
- Windows, frames and doors: low-pressure rinse to clear dust and splatter
- Light efflorescence on brick and concrete
- Slurry containment with drain covers and hydrovac recovery

How Do Post-Construction Contracts Work?
Contract and pricing table
| Project type | Pricing basis |
|---|---|
| Single custom home | Written quote per project |
| Townhouse block or semi pairs | Per unit or per phase |
| Small commercial or mixed-use | Per elevation and hardscape area |
| Combined with site wash and vac | Bundled rate |
COI delivery in 24 hours
Builders and GCs get a COI naming them as additional insured, with $2M liability and WSIB clearance, within one business day.
Hydrovac wastewater containment (Toronto Municipal Code 681)
Concrete and mud slurry are exactly the kind of discharge Toronto Municipal Code 681 restricts. We cover new catch basins, berm the work area and vacuum slurry into the hydrovac tank. Our sister brand, Hydrovac Toronto, supports larger site programs.
When Should the Final Wash Happen?
After the last exterior trades finish and mortar and concrete have cured, but before the pre-delivery inspection or occupancy walk-through. On phased projects we schedule each phase as it completes. Booking early lets us slot into your handover calendar instead of scrambling the week before.
How Much Does Post-Construction Washing Cost?
We quote from drawings or a site walk, per project, per unit or per phase. The written quote lists each surface type, so it maps cleanly onto your budget. Bundling with construction site wash and vac usually lowers the combined cost.
Common Post-Construction Problems We Solve
Mortar splatter on brick and stone
Mortar droppings and smears are common at the base of walls, around windows and on stone veneer. Heavy tags are scraped by hand first, then the residue is washed off.
Concrete paste on adjacent surfaces
When concrete is placed beside brick, stone or pavers, paste and haze often end up on the neighbouring surface. We remove it with suitable cleaners and controlled pressure.
White efflorescence on new masonry
New brick and block often bloom white as they dry out. A light treatment and rinse clear early efflorescence; persistent blooms point to moisture issues we flag for the builder.
Mud and tire tracks on new driveways
Trades and landscapers drive across new concrete and interlock. A surface cleaner and controlled pressure remove the tracks without damaging fresh surfaces.
Dusty windows, frames and doors
Construction dust coats every horizontal surface. A low-pressure rinse clears frames, sills and doors before the interior clean.
Coordinating With the Last Trades
The best time for the final exterior wash is after landscaping, paving and exterior painting are finished, but before the pre-delivery inspection. We confirm the order with the site super, avoid freshly sealed or painted areas, and schedule phased projects so each block is washed as it completes.
Post-Construction Washing Across the GTA
Our GTA power and pressure washing crews work on new builds around Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, Woodbridge and Kleinburg in Vaughan, in the newer subdivisions of Brampton, and across Markham, Mississauga, Richmond Hill and Toronto. Larger buildings may also need our exterior building washing service, and homeowners moving in can book driveway cleaning later in the year. See our commercial power washing program for builder contracts.
