Graffiti removal in Toronto works best when it is fast and when the method matches the wall. Brick, painted siding, metal doors and concrete all react differently to removers and pressure. We test first, use surface-matched chemistry, rinse with hot water, recover the runoff and hand you timestamped photos to close out any city notice.

Why Does Graffiti Need a Professional?

A tag left up for a week invites more tags. That is why speed matters for storefronts and commercial walls in King West, Liberty Village and along the Golden Mile. But speed with the wrong method causes its own problems. Blasting brick with high pressure etches the face and leaves a clean-looking “ghost” of the tag. Harsh solvents strip paint from siding and doors. Hosing remover into the street drain sends paint residue into the storm system.

Toronto also issues graffiti notices to property owners. Clearing the tag quickly, with photo proof, keeps you on the right side of that process.

How Do We Remove Graffiti?

  1. Identify the paint and the surface. Spray paint, marker and etching each behave differently, and so do brick, block, painted wood, vinyl, metal and concrete.
  2. Test patch. A small area confirms which remover and dwell time lift the paint without harming the surface.
  3. Apply remover and let it dwell. Chemistry does most of the work.
  4. Hot-water rinse at controlled pressure. Our hot-water rig lifts dissolved paint without etching the substrate.
  5. Recover runoff. Drain covers and our hydrovac capture paint and remover residue.

Anti-Graffiti Coatings

For walls that get tagged again and again, a clear anti-graffiti coating makes the next removal faster and cheaper. We apply it after a full clean and can quote it alongside the removal.

When Should You Call?

As soon as you see the tag. Commercial owners should call the same day, homeowners within a few days, and anyone with a city notice immediately. Our phone is answered 24/7.

How Much Does Graffiti Removal Cost?

Pricing

Residential tags on garage doors, fences and small walls typically run $150-$300. Commercial walls run $300-$900 depending on size, paint and surface. Large murals, multiple walls and coatings are quoted in writing. Contract clients under our commercial power washing program get priority dispatch.

Common Graffiti Problems We Solve

Ghosting on old brick

A pale outline of the tag left after a rushed removal. It happens when high pressure scrubs the brick face clean around the paint, or when paint soaks deep into porous brick. Gel removers with longer dwell times and a moderate hot rinse reduce it. A second treatment usually finishes the job.

Tags on painted surfaces

When graffiti sits on top of paint, the goal is to dissolve the tag without lifting the coating. Mild removers and low pressure often work. If the tag has fused into the paint, a spot repaint is the cleaner fix, and we say so up front.

Marker and etching on glass

Paint markers come off glass with solvent and a blade. Acid etching cannot be washed off; it needs glass restoration or replacement. We tell you which you have.

Repeat tagging on the same wall

Walls along lanes, rail corridors and plaza rears get tagged again and again. An anti-graffiti coating makes future removal faster and cheaper, and a contract with priority dispatch keeps tags from sitting up long enough to attract more.

Tags on metal doors and utility boxes

Factory-finished metal needs removers that will not haze or soften the finish. We test on a hidden corner first.

Why Speed Matters

Graffiti attracts more graffiti. A fresh tag is also easier to remove than one that has cured in the sun for weeks, because the paint has not fully bonded to the surface. Commercial clients on contract get priority dispatch, and homeowners are usually booked within a few days. The phone is answered 24/7, including late at night when tags are often discovered.

Handling a City Graffiti Notice

If you receive a notice, call us as soon as possible. We remove the graffiti, then send timestamped before-and-after photos that show the date of removal and the cleaned surface. Many owners forward those photos to close out the notice.

Painting Over Graffiti vs Removing It

Painting over a tag is quick, but on brick and stone it leaves a mismatched patch that often looks worse than the graffiti and invites the next tag. It also seals paint into the masonry, making future cleaning harder. Removal returns the wall to its original surface. On painted siding and doors, a careful removal is usually tried first, and a spot repaint is the fallback when the tag has bonded into the coating.

Graffiti Removal Across the GTA

Our GTA power and pressure washing crews remove graffiti across Toronto Central, from King West and Liberty Village to Lawrence Park, and in plazas and industrial areas of Scarborough, Etobicoke and Mississauga. Graffiti often comes up alongside exterior building washing, storefront cleaning and shopping plaza power washing.

What Clients Say About Our Graffiti Work

Real jobs, real prices, written quote first.

Jason P.

Liberty Village

$575
"Large tag across the side wall of our office building. They matched the chemistry to old brick, kept the runoff contained, and sent before and after photos we used to close out the city notice. Quick, careful and clearly experienced with this kind of wall. They also suggested a protective coating so the next tag comes off faster and cheaper."

Priya S.

Lawrence Park

$295
"Someone tagged our garage door and the brick beside it overnight. I called at 10pm and someone actually answered. They came two days later, removed both tags, and the brick has no shadow at all. Sent photos for our records too."

Natalie G.

Yorkville

$610
"Our boutique entrance was covered in black gum spots and salt haze. They came at 6am, used hot water on the gum, and were packed up before we opened at 10. The sidewalk looks the way it should for the street we are on. Booking them monthly now. The manager even sent photos to our head office so they could see the before and after without visiting the store."

Mei L.

King West

$1,150
"I manage a mid-rise condo in King West and needed the courtyard, entrance plaza and garage ramp done after salt season. The COI arrived the next morning with our corporation named, which never happens with other vendors. They sent resident notice wording we could post in the elevators, worked a Saturday, and used a vacuum system so no wash water went into the drains. The photo report with timestamps went straight into our board package. We have since moved to their annual plan with the price locked for the year. Two other managers in our portfolio have since signed on after seeing the reports."

Claire D.

The Annex

$520
"Our 1890s brick semi had green staining and black spots on the shaded side. I was nervous about pressure on old mortar, but they explained the soft wash and did a small test patch first. The brick came up clean and the mortar is untouched. Very respectful of an old house. They even pointed out a spot of failing mortar near the porch so we could have a mason look at it before winter."

Graffiti FAQs

How much does graffiti removal cost in Toronto?

Residential tags on garage doors, fences or small walls typically run $150-$300. Commercial walls run $300-$900 depending on size, paint type and surface. Anti-graffiti coating is quoted separately.

Will there be a shadow or ghost left behind?

We work to minimize ghosting by matching the remover and pressure to the surface and testing first. Porous old brick and some paints can leave a faint shadow, which we tell you about before starting. A second treatment usually takes care of it.

Can you remove graffiti from painted surfaces without removing the paint?

Often, yes, using a mild remover designed for painted surfaces and low pressure. If the tag has bonded with the paint, the cleanest fix may be a spot repaint, and we tell you that up front.

I received a city graffiti notice. Can you help?

Yes. We remove the graffiti and supply timestamped before-and-after photos you can use to show the notice has been dealt with. Call as soon as you receive it.

What is anti-graffiti coating?

A clear protective coating applied to clean masonry or concrete. It makes future tags easier and cheaper to remove. It suits walls that get tagged repeatedly.

Do you recover the runoff?

Yes. Paint and remover residue are captured with drain covers and our hydrovac rather than rinsed into storm drains.
